The appearance of the house, today called according to its historical origin "The Bishop's House", emanates from 1843, when the reconstruction of the 16th century semblance was finished after six years of work. Present archeological research, however, proved the evidence of the settlement in this place already in primeval and even neolithic times.
Hotel Bishop's House offers four stars accommodation in the center very near the Charles Bridge and the Royal Route, leading from the Old Town passing the Charles Bridge and then up to the Prague Castle. Hotel Biskupsky Dum (Bishop's House) can be found about 60m from the Charles bridge in the centre of the Historical protected area. This part of Prague is called Lesser Quarter (Mala Strana).
DESCRIPTION:
The history of the house comes back to the end of the 12th century, when the powerful bishop Prince Jindrich Bretislav had a vast court built as a bishop´s seat on the left river Vltava bank.
The house was rebuilt many times in the history and the present appearance dates to the half of 19th century.
Complete reconstruction of the building was finished in 1999. Behind the Empire facade guests can find both comfort and genuine remnants of the past.
The hotel offers double rooms with shower or bathroom. Our program of constant improvement means that most bedrooms have been beautifully refurbished to the highest world class standards, providing a graceful, yet homely ambience for you to relax.
